About our specialists in the media
About us in the press.
During our conversation, Victoria simply fascinated me. She is the mother of five children, her eldest daughter Anastasia is 30 years old, and her youngest son Yelisey is seven. She is ironic, cheerful, and a fighter by nature. The disease, which was diagnosed four years ago, does not allow her to relax, but despite everything, Vika is optimistic. Now she lives with her family in Switzerland (her daughter and son-in-law live there permanently). But she perceives her stay in another country as temporary. She and her husband believe in our victory and dream of returning home to Kyiv as soon as possible. The reason for our conversation was the story of his fight against cancer and his surgery shortly before the war.
– “I was diagnosed with breast cancer almost four years ago, at the same time in one of the state clinics, the gland was removed and reconstructive surgery was performed immediately, but apparently, the tissue affected by malignant cells was not completely removed, so from time to time there were relapses,” says Victoria. – In October last year, I went to the private clinic “Diyevo” located in the capital at 112 Volodymyr Brozhko Street. It is a multidisciplinary surgical center. An experienced and attentive specialist performed an ultrasound examination on me, and he did not like one lymph node. Knowing my underlying disease, I had little doubt that the node would have to be removed. This was confirmed by the surgeon who consulted me.
– Did you put off the operation “for later”?
– On the contrary, I wanted to find out the nature of the growth as soon as possible and get rid of it. I realized that this was a “bad” deal. So, to improve my mood, I decided to “order” a “pleasant” procedure: blepharoplasty, that is, as they say, “to tighten the eyelids.” This is an unusual complex. And the famous surgeon Serhiy Halych agreed to perform these operations almost simultaneously. I want to be beautiful!
– Did you succeed?

Sergey Galich
– Among those who are diagnosed with breast cancer (which, by the way, is the second most common cancer), such patients are very rare. Victoria, on the other hand, is committed to the future. When she returns to Kyiv, I hope to complete the planned stage of her treatment – to restore the volume and shape of her breast. During the previous operation, the tissue and implants affected by the disease had to be removed, and it took time to heal.
– Will the operation be complicated?
– Yes. But we perform all kinds of reconstructive surgeries using the latest artificial materials and breast prostheses. In addition, we perform plastic surgery using the patient’s own tissues.
– What areas do you take the tissue complex from?
– It depends on the woman’s body type, and we consult with her. In some cases, we take a complex of tissues from the buttocks, in others – from the abdomen, from the inner or lateral surface of the thigh, from the chest. In any case, we choose the best option. It is possible to transfer a complex of tissues on a vascular pedicle without disconnecting it from the bloodstream, so that the tissue can take root well. If this is not possible, we transplant a set of tissues from a remote area together with blood vessels and connect them to the vessels at the site where it is to take root. We form a gland from it. We use microsurgical techniques. We have a well-coordinated team, so we can perform operations of a high level of complexity.
– You have performed blepharoplasty on Victoria, and she is happy with the way her eyes look now…
– Very nice. For a plastic surgeon, this is not a complicated operation, but it is effective.
– I want to clarify: Victoria is also set to undergo another plastic surgery to tighten the skin on her neck. How is it made?
– This is a more complicated operation: it cannot be performed only on the neck, it is necessary to simultaneously lift the lower third of the face. But such an operation does have a good effect. And what could be better than making a woman happier?
