Bladder stones

One of the manifestations of urolithiasis is the presence of stones in the bladder.
Stones that appear in the bladder can be primary and secondary. Secondary stones are those that enter the bladder from the kidneys.
They come in different sizes and densities – small (microlites), large (macrolites), from soft and plastic to hard and sharp. There are both single and multiple concretions.
Bladder stones symptoms
- difficulty and painful urination,
- pain in the pubic bone area,,
- frequent urge to urinate,
- feeling of a full bladder,
- change in urine color,
- the presence of blood in the urine,
- very severe pain in the lumbar region.
Beforehand, a person may experience slight pain in the lower abdomen and mistake it for symptoms of other diseases. Often women mistake these pains for manifestations of ovulation, premenstrual syndrome, ovarian inflammation, or digestive problems. In general, bladder stones are characterized by pain that can radiate to the thigh, back, or genitals.
Bladder stones treatment
Today, the safest and most non-traumatic minimally invasive surgery is considered to be CONTACT LITHOTRIPPY, which allows removing stones from the ureter and bladder without resorting to open surgery.
Contact lithotripsy
Contact lithotripsy at the Dievo Center is performed with the help of modern equipment – a laser from the German company DORNIER (holmium laser), which is known for its high technical achievements in urology. The laser fiber built into the urethroscope destroys the stone at the site of its localization and with any density. The laser creates a shock wave and, upon contact with the stone, destroys it without injury or damage to the surrounding tissue.
This laser can crush stones of any size and density. After exposure to this laser, the crushed stones are painlessly and independently removed from the genitourinary system.
Laser lithotripsy is considered a unique method of removing ureteral stones of various sizes in 1 procedure and without recurrence!
Advantages of laser lithotripsy
- a unique gentle and painless method,
- removal of stones of any size in 1 procedure,
- fast rehabilitation,
- fast recovery,
- low risk of relapse.
After the stone is surgically removed, the patient is prescribed antibiotics and a catheter is placed to drain the urine. If the disease lasted for a long time and changes appeared on the bladder walls, a biopsy and histological examination of the tissues are additionally prescribed.
The cause of bladder calculi formation is impaired urine flow from the bladder.
In this situation, it is very important! determine the causes of bladder stones formation. Since removing a stone often does not solve the problem of its formation. When crushing a stone, it is important to simultaneously eliminate the factors that led to its appearance, otherwise a relapse cannot be avoided. One of these factors is usually prostate disease in men.
