Kidney cysts
As a rule, a patient first learns about his or her diagnosis of a kidney cyst during an ultrasound examination (ultrasound of the kidney). The number of diagnosed kidney cysts at an early stage has recently increased significantly.
This pathology is diagnosed in patients of any age. A renal cyst affects the renal parenchyma. In appearance, the formation is a spherical cavity filled with fluid. In most cases, it is a benign tumor. There are cases when a kidney cyst is formed in the fetal period.
Like many neoplasms, a kidney cyst can be successfully treated. It is possible to do without surgical intervention if the cyst is small and the disease is detected at an early stage.

Causes of kidney cysts
- Genetic factors;
- Frequent infections;
- He sustained injuries in the lumbar region;
- Hormonal changes;
- Circulatory disorders.
Symptoms of a kidney cyst
- The first sign of a kidney cyst disease may be a constant or periodic aching pain in the kidney area, which makes a person consult a doctor;
- Arterial hypertension (high blood pressure, severe pain in the back of the head, insomnia, decreased performance, visual impairment).
- Blood in the urine is a possible sign that manifests itself extremely rarely with a kidney cyst (laboratory tests show an increased red blood cell count).
Diagnosis of a kidney cyst
- General blood and urine tests;
- Ultrasound examination of the kidneys;
- Computed tomography (CT) of retroperitoneal organs with contrast.
All examinations should be performed to detect a kidney cyst early in order to foresee all the risks before and after surgery, if it is necessary.

Kidney cyst – surgery
Urologists at the DIEVO Center make a decision on the need for surgical treatment of a kidney cyst only after all the necessary diagnostic and laboratory tests.
If the tumor is less than 5 cm and does not cause impaired blood circulation and urine flow, does not manifest itself clinically, the cyst is not operated on. Observation is carried out or a puncture is performed under the control of ultrasound. But unfortunately, not all types of renal cysts can be punctured, as there is a considerable chance of disease recurrence.
Laparoscopic methods of removing a kidney cyst
At the DIEVO Center, we perform high-tech surgery to remove a kidney cyst, successfully using laparoscopic surgery. This is a guarantee of effective operations regardless of the size and localization of the tumor.
A radical excision of the cyst with histological examination is performed, the operation is minimally invasive, i.e. 3 punctures of no more than 5 mm in size are left in the abdominal cavity. During laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon sees all anatomical formations on the monitor, so the surgical intervention is performed safely and with high accuracy. In addition, DIEVO uses ultrasonic surgical scissors, which allow for bloodless operations.
To avoid the formation of adhesions and thrombosis, synthetic dissolvable suture materials, modern anti-adhesion barriers, and compression knitwear are used.
After laparoscopic kidney surgery, patients can get out of bed on their own on the 1st day, and on the 3rd day they are discharged from the hospital. The patient returns to work in 10-14 days.
