Kidney stones
Kidney stones occur in only about 5% of people. A complication of urolithiasis, like all diseases, also has a complicated form – the formation of coral stones in the kidneys. Coral kidney stones are the most dangerous of all types of formations, as they reach particularly large sizes.
Kidney stones – treatment
The DIEVO Surgical Solutions Center is the best surgical center with a team of highly qualified specialists who perform complex interventions in oncourology and endourology, using innovative, modern and proprietary techniques in the treatment of urological problems in men and women.
The DORNIER Center uses modern equipment – a laser from the German company DORNIER (holmium laser), which is known for its high technical achievements in urology. This laser can crush stones of any size and density. After exposure to this laser, kidney stones are painlessly and independently removed from the genitourinary system.
LASER LITHOTRIPSY is considered a unique method of removing ureteral stones of various sizes in 1 procedure without recurrence.
Crushing of kidney stones (LASER LITHOTRIPPY)
Modern medicine allows crushing kidney stones using various methods. But the most effective is percutaneous laser lithotripsy.
Progress of the operation
One of the treatment methods is LASER LITHOTRIPPING
This high-tech contact treatment method allows you to perform the stone crushing procedure as accurately and efficiently as possible!
In this operation, the stone is accessed through the natural urinary tract.
The method allows you to neutralize stones of any composition and density, to crush them in hard-to-reach places with minimal intervention in the body.
The energy of the laser beam in the skillful hands of our specialists does not injure the surrounding tissue, which makes the subsequent rehabilitation period minimal, allowing you to quickly return to normal life.
Postoperative stay of patients takes place in comfortable and cozy wards of our hospital with medical support for no more than 1 day!
Advantages of LASER LITHOTRIPPING
The main advantages of percutaneous lithotripsy include:
- high efficiency of destruction of concretions;
- low trauma: a single puncture is made on the skin, and other organs of the urinary system are not damaged;
- a short period of hospitalization and subsequent recovery.
Indications for crushing kidney stones
The formation of kidney stones is a characteristic symptom of urolithiasis. And while small stones can still pass on their own, medium and large ones necessarily require medical attention. The main reason for seeking medical attention is usually severe, acute pain in the lower back or groin – renal colic.
Percutaneous laser lithotripsy is used for single or multiple stones. The main indications for this type of surgery include:

- large calculi (over 3 cm in size);
- some types of stones, including coral-like and cystine stones;
- impossibility of using other methods, including remote crushing or using a flexible endoscope;
- stones in an abnormal kidney or the only one that remains.
Contraindications to percutaneous lithotripsy
This method of calculus destruction is not used in case of blood clotting disorders and urinary tract infections.
It is temporarily contraindicated to crush kidney stones with percutaneous lithotripsy in case of:
- pregnancy;
- skin lesions in the lumbar region where the puncture is performed;
- pathologies that interfere with access to the kidney.
How to prepare for lithotripsy?
Beforehand, urologists at the Diyevo Center prescribe a set of preoperative tests, including:
- laboratory tests of blood and urine;
- fluorography;
- Pelvic ultrasonography;
- electrocardiography;
- consultation with an anesthesiologist;
- other examinations if indicated (for example, women are also recommended to visit a gynecologist).
Performing percutaneous laser lithotripsy
The operation is performed using anesthesia. To access the kidney with stones, a puncture is made in the lower back. Then an endoscope is inserted, and through it, laser equipment (lithotriptor), which crushes the calculi into small fragments. At the end of the procedure, drainage is placed (if necessary), and after its removal, a sterile dressing is applied. The duration of the operation depends on the number and size of stones to be crushed.
The patient remains under medical supervision for some time (at least a day). Recovery may involve taking medications, dieting, limiting physical activity, etc.
